ALI-CERTIFIED LIFT INSPECTIONS

Know the condition of every lift in your shop.

Lift Works provides annual vehicle lift inspections performed by ALI Certified Lift Inspectors, with clear documentation to help New England facilities identify concerns, plan corrective work, and support continued safe operation.

WHAT AN INSPECTION COVERS

A closer look at the equipment your technicians depend on.

Following ANSI/ALI ALOIM:2020 and the lift manufacturer’s requirements, the inspection considers structural, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and components.

01

Lift systems

Examine applicable structural, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, along with manufacturer-required inspection points.

02

Operation and controls

Operate the lift with a vehicle as required, observing its function in motion and when stopped in a raised position, including controls and safety devices.

03

Labels and materials

Review lift labels, capacity information, operating instructions, vehicle-lifting guidance, safety materials, and supporting documentation.

04

Written inspection record

Receive a written record of observations and findings for the inspection points, including any adjustments made or parts replaced during the inspection.

INSPECTION + MAINTENANCE

Related services—with different jobs.

Inspection

Evaluates and documents the lift’s condition and operation at a point in time.

Maintenance

Performs scheduled care and adjustments intended to support reliable operation and equipment life.

Repair

Corrects an identified problem or failed component and returns the equipment to proper service.

An annual inspection does not replace the lift manufacturer’s maintenance requirements or the operator’s routine pre-use checks. Lift Works can help coordinate the follow-up work identified during inspection.

A STRAIGHTFORWARD PROCESS

Plan the visit. Inspect each lift. Act on the findings.

We work with your team to minimize disruption while giving each lift the attention and documentation it requires.

1

Schedule the facility

Tell us your location, lift count, lift types, and any known concerns so we can plan the visit.

2

Inspect and document

An ALI Certified Lift Inspector evaluates each lift and prepares a written record of observations and findings.

3

Review next steps

Your team receives clear documentation and can discuss maintenance or repair priorities with Lift Works.

How often should vehicle lifts be inspected?

ANSI/ALI ALOIM:2020 requires a lift owner or employer to have every vehicle lift inspected by a qualified lift inspector at least annually, regardless of lift type, age, or manufacturer.

Can you inspect different lift brands and styles?

Tell us which lifts are in your facility when requesting service. Lift Works supports a wide range of commercial lifting equipment and will confirm the appropriate scope for your shop.

Is an inspection the same as preventive maintenance?

No. An inspection evaluates and documents condition; preventive maintenance performs scheduled service. Both are important parts of responsible lift ownership.

What happens if an issue is found?

The finding is documented so the facility can make an informed decision. Lift Works can then discuss the appropriate maintenance, repair, or replacement path.
